Atlantic City Outlets, The Walk . An Outlet Retail & Entertainment Project
The Walk is a dynamic urban retail and entertainment project, featuring
nationally recognized factory outlet retailers, interactive entertainment
and restaurants in a 320,000 sq. ft. complex. Developed by the acclaimed
Cordish Company of Baltimore, Maryland, and the Casino Reinvestment
Development Authority, .The Walk. creates a major retail/entertainment
district which strongly links Atlantic City's Convention Center and
transportation Center with the Boardwalk-casino-hotel district. Designed by
Baltimore-based Carter Burgess Architects, the project lines the Michigan
Avenue corridor and covers eight city blocks. To enhance the urban fabric
and create true streetscapes, the architect's design breaks the large blocks
of one-level buildings into a series of stylish sub-buildings, with
distinctive and varied two-story masonry facades. Enhancing the facades are
creative, colorful tenant signage and storefront displays. Other amenities
include plazas, fountains, whimsical kiosks and environmental graphics.
